Got Questions? Here Are Some Answers

A lot of therapists offer solid clinical training, but not all of them bring lived experience into the room too. As a Marine Corps veteran and licensed therapist, I understand resilience, hard seasons, and pushing through difficulty, not just from textbooks, but from having lived it myself. That combination shapes how I show up for every client, whether or not you have a military background.

You don't have to choose. A lot of clients start with individual sessions to work through personal struggles, then later decide to bring their partner in once things open up. Others start as a couple and eventually add individual sessions too. We'll figure out what actually fits your situation as it evolves.

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Pennsylvania, Carelon Behavioral Health, Anthem EAP, Cigna, Aetna, Ascension (Smart Health), and Medicare. If your plan isn't listed, self-pay is also available at $140 per session, and I'm happy to help you figure out what options make sense for you.

Every session is offered through telehealth. That means no commute, no waiting room, and no need to rearrange your whole day around an appointment. You can join from home, your car, or anywhere else that feels private and comfortable.

Life happens, so I ask for at least 24 hours' notice when you need to cancel or reschedule. If it's later than that, a $75 late cancellation fee applies. No-shows are charged the full session rate, since that time is set aside specifically for you.

That's more common than you'd think, most first-time clients feel exactly the same way. You don't need a script, a clear starting point, or even a "reason" fully figured out. I'll guide the conversation, and most people find it starts to feel natural within the first few minutes.

It's a genuine, ongoing focus of my practice, not just a line for marketing. I've put real effort into understanding the specific challenges this community faces, so you won't spend your first sessions educating me before we get into what actually brought you in.

Yes, and honestly, that's often the ideal time to start. Premarital counseling isn't about fixing something broken, it's about building strong communication habits, understanding each other's expectations, and getting ahead of issues before they ever become real problems.

If you're even asking yourself this question, that's usually a good sign you're more ready than you think. There's no perfect moment to start therapy, just a first step. Booking a free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure way to explore that.

Yes, absolutely. Spouses, partners, and family members often carry the effects of deployment, frequent moves, and the general strain military life puts on relationships, even if they never served themselves. That experience deserves support too, and it's very much part of what I work with.

That's completely fine, and it's actually a common situation in my practice. Sessions focus on both partners and your relationship as a whole, not just the one with military experience. Both perspectives matter equally in the room.

It's never too late. Trauma doesn't have an expiration date, whether something happened last year or twenty years ago, it can still be affecting you now, and it can still be worked through, at whatever pace feels manageable for you.

Yes, that happens more often than you'd think. Life shifts, and so do people's needs, sometimes an individual client wants to bring their partner in, or a couple decides one person needs some individual space. We can adjust the format as things change for you.

There is. A general therapist can absolutely help, but having served myself means certain things don't need to be explained from scratch, deployments, the strain of frequent moves, the adjustment of coming home. That shared understanding often makes it easier to get straight into the real work.

Yes, absolutely. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide if it feels like the right fit, no pressure, no commitment needed.
